Walking on the crystal clear ice of a frozen lake can be a bit unnerving, but utterly exhilarating if you pay attention to details. Not doing so … well, you really don’t want that experience.
Clarity about what needs to be measured, managed and compensated for, is the first step to confidence in crossing the lake and the success of your sustainable business model going forward. The confidence that comes from the benchmarking, tracking, and progress in those metrics is what will get you to the other side. Those metrics and key performance indicators ultimately provide the basis for transparency with employees and/or staff, as well as externally to all other stakeholders.
