Our perspective is that the Megatrends are a train headed in our direction, but that the Ten Principles and Sustainable Development Goal’s of the UN Global Compact embody those challenges as the imperative for business opportunity and success in the near to long term. In fact, they are already being monetized on a massive scale across every type and size of business, community, and organization, both profit and non-profit, tribal and non-tribal.

For example, SDG #12 – Responsible Consumption & Production has evolved into world-wide innovation and collaboration known as the ‘Circular Economy,’ with a projected economic opportunity of over $One Trillion; or SDG #13 – Climate Action where “… total economic losses from hurricanes in 2017 were nearly five times the average of the preceding 16 years …”.

The St Croix Institute assists every client in identifying the SDG’s most material to their business success and bringing clarity to the cost-benefit and risk management opportunities, filtered through the Ten Principles. For example, what is the cost-benefit and risk management implications of developing a Climate Action Plan in support of the Paris Climate Accord, or not?
